| Sleeping with natural fibres,
such as wool and alpaca, has long been know to give a better
nights sleep, and now we know why. Natural fibres disperse
moisture from the skin, providing an even warmth and body temperature,
and are naturally flame resistant.

Considering
the fact that we spend a third of our life in bed, you probably
agree that it is important that our beds are free from humidity,
cold and dampness. During sleeping hours our body loses around
a cup of water from perspiration, which ends up in our bed
sheets, our blankets and in the mattress.
Microscopic
pores of the natural fibre effectively respond to changes in
humidity, drawing moisture away from the body and into the
air, making alpaca and woollen products such as scarves, throws
and blankets suitable for every climate. Woollen fibre, for
example, can absorb up to one-third of its own weight in vapour
depending on relative humidity. Natural Fibres have an ability
to shed water, yet readily admit water vapour.
Synthetic fibres can only absorb 2-3 per cent of moisture before
they begin to feel wet.
Soft and luxurious to touch, natural fibres are unsurpassed
in flexible strength. Natural fibre blankets and throw rugs
are difficult to tear because natural fibres can be bent backwards
and forwards without breaking.

In this
age of low cost, imported synthetics, and low-grade foreign
natural fibre products Creswick Woollen Mills strives to provide
a high quality, Australian made, naturally superior product.
We believe that an investment in natural fibre products
is a long-term investment in quality, comfort and performance.
